Stella Lavallee sworn-in as Ward 4 Councillor

Stella Lavallee was sworn in immediately before Tuesday’s Council meeting as Ward 4 Councillor for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

She can now participate and represent Ward 4 in all Council business, including the upcoming 2025 budget deliberations.

Lavallee will represent the communities of Anzac, Conklin, Gregoire Lake Estates and Janvier as Ward 4 Councillor until the Municipal election in October 2025.

The byelection results were made official on Friday, Nov. 8 after the normal legislated period of time a candidate could request a recount concluded.  

More than 32 per cent of eligible Ward 4 voters cast ballots in the byelection. A record 89 voters cast ballots at advance polls, up from the previous record of 73 in 2017.
