Updates to Transit service take effect March 20

Adjustments to Route 1, Route 3, school routes and Transit On Demand to improve service

Select routes and schedules will be adjusted to expand service and better meet the needs of riders. The changes will take effect on March 20.

These updates are based on rider feedback and data collected since the launch of the Transit Master Plan in August, including ridership patterns, route usage and timing. The changes are designed to help reduce delays, better align with school schedules and enhance service during peak travel times.

Upcoming changes to expect

Route 1 (Thickwood/ Gregoire): Weekend service is increasing. Route 1 will run on the same consistent schedule every day. The last two trips of the evening have also been rerouted to add service along Signal Rd. and Silin Forest Rd.

Route 3 (Macdonald Island/ Abasand): The schedule will be adjusted to reduce travel time and delays along the route.

Transit On Demand: Additional service will be available during peak afternoon times to increase availability and better serve On Demand riders.

Specialized Transit: Rides have been optimized to be quicker and prevent missed appointments. This change follows a Council motion on March 10 that Specialized Transit riders be provided with a maximum travel time not to exceed 200% of the direct travel time.
