Save the date for the Santa Claus Parade and Council's Starry Night!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025. It will be a night of lights and music that is sure to bring the holiday spirit to life.
Council's Starry Night begins at 5 p.m. at kiyām Community Park for the lighting of the community tree and tipi.
The Santa Claus Parade will follow at 6 p.m. along Franklin Avenue, featuring colourful floats, community spirit and of course Santa Claus himself.
The parade will begin on Main Street, which is the designated sensory-friendly zone, lights and sounds will start at the intersection of Main Street and Franklin Avenue, then continue south on Franklin Avenue, ending at Riedel Street.
Float registration
Float registration is open from Wednesday, Oct. 22, to Wednesday, Nov. 19. Don’t miss your chance to join the fun!

Fundraise for your organization or group
Local organizations, groups, and teams are invited to join the celebration and fundraise for their cause.
Available opportunities may include:

- Sidewalk Safety Elves
- Toyshop Team
In addition to fundraising, volunteers are also needed to support. Whether you are fundraising with a group or volunteering, your efforts help make this holiday event safe, welcoming, and fun for everyone.
Fundraising Opportunity Application Information:
- Eligibility: Applicants must be a local non-profit organization or a group fundraising on behalf of a local non-profit.
- Lead Contacts: Each organization must provide a lead contact and a secondary lead to serve as liaisons with the RMWB Santa Claus Parade planning committee. Leads are also responsible for submitting participant names and completed waivers by Nov. 28, 2025. Both leads are required to be present during the parade and assist with the check-in and check-out of the group’s participants.
- Orientation Session: Leads must attend the mandatory parade orientation session on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025.
- Participant Availability: All participants must be available at their scheduled start time and remain for the entire event.
- Participant Requirements: Participants must be fit for duty, wearing appropriate winter attire, able to lift up to 15 pounds, and prepared to stand or walk throughout the parade.
Applications for fundraising opportunities are now open and will close on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.

The Sensory Friendly Block is a section of the parade route (Main St.) where floats and walking groups will turn off their music and sirens to allow those with varying sensory needs to enjoy the parade in a quieter and more relaxed environment.
