Water Delivery, Bulk Water & Septic Pickup

The Municipality coordinates weekly water deliveries and septic pickups by truck with registered rural residents.

Emergency or non-scheduled water delivery and septic delivery by truck can be requested by contacting Pulse at 780-743-7000 or pulse@rmwb.ca. This is only available for registered homeowners with a municipal billing account.

Service delivery access requirements for rural residents

To allow access of water and septic delivery trucks and to provide continuous service for all residents, please follow the requirements below:

All customers must have their volume posted in a visible place so the water delivery contractor can see the proper date and amount of water required (displayed in litres)

All vehicles/obstacles must be removed from driveways during the delivery schedule.

Make sure that delivery vehicles have a minimum of 15 feet of clearanceAll low hanging branches must be trimmed to prevent damage to trucks, and low hanging wires are to be raised.

For the safety of contractors and pets, all dogs are to be tied up or inside your home, for service provider to access your property.

During winter months, keep driveways and pathways to water and septic hookups clear of snow and ice and thaw receivers and caps for hose access.

The winterization and maintenance of the cam-lock fitting and hoses is the responsibility of the homeowner. All cam-locks and hoses are to be drained and water to be removed to prevent freezing and breakage of cam-lock.

All septic tanks must be equipped with a “stinger” and an approved lid on the tank.

If your driveway is soft (spring thaw), it is the homeowner’s responsibility to contact the RMWB to suspend delivery or to extend a proper hose (with the required cam-lock) down driveway to the delivery location.

Bulk Water for Commercial Use

The Municipality has bulk water fill stations available for commercial users throughout the region. Bulk water is not available for residential or private use. To access bulk water, you need to set up a General Trade Account

The following information will be requested in the application process:

  • An estimate of how many cubes of water you expect to use per month.

  • Pictures of each truck showing the water tank, company logo & unit number, license plate, and vehicle registration.

  • A deposit on your account may be required. The amount of this deposit varies and depends on your estimated monthly usage.

Potable water (drinking water) and non-potable water fill stations are available throughout the region.

  • Potable stations are located in Fort McMurray, Anzac, Conklin, and Janvier.

  • Non-potable water is located in Fort McMurray.

For Potable Water Haulers, Alberta Health Services (AHS) needs to approve your tank.  Contact Alberta Environmental Health Services at 1 (833) 476 4743 to get the tank assessed. You will need to provide the Municipality with a valid Water Tank Approval issued by AHS. The Municipality requires annual inspections (to be completed by Sept. 30 each year), and these inspections can be forwarded to accounts.receivable@rmwb.ca
