Riding Basics
How can I plan trips with RMWB Transit? |
Use Transit App or Google Maps to find your best route. You can check the location of your bus and keep track of its progress while waiting for your ride. |
How do I know if my bus will be late? |
You can track your bus’s progress while you wait with Transit App or Google Maps. You can also visit the Transit Alerts page to find current delays, detours and bus stop closures. |
How much does bus fare cost? |
Cash fare is $2 per ride. Ticket sheets ($32 for 18 tickets) and monthly passes ($51.25 for student passes and $67.50 for adult passes) can be bought at the Jubilee building cashier at 9909 Franklin Avenue or partnering locations. Children under five years old and seniors who are 65 years or older ride for free. For specialized transit or rural fares, please see the fares webpage. |
How can I buy bus fares? |
You can purchase tickets and passes at multiple locations throughout Fort McMurray, including Jubilee building reception at 9909 Franklin Ave. Cash fares can be paid in exact change on the bus. For a full list of vendor locations or more information visit the fares webpage. |
How do transfers work? |
If you are paying with cash or tickets and you need to take more than one bus, ask your driver for a transfer. When boarding the next bus, show the transfer to your driver. Transfers are given to passengers paying with cash or tickets and are valid for 90 minutes. |

Services and Operations
My bus is often late/early. What can I do? |
RMWB Transit works hard to ensure buses run according to schedule. Please keep in mind that like other vehicles, buses are affected by traffic issues, adverse weather conditions and/or construction, which may cause delays. If you continue to have difficulties with a particular bus route, please report the specific bus route number, time and location to Pulse. |
Why is my bus crowded? |
During peak hours and certain school routes with high demand there may be times where passengers need to stand. In cases where buses are regularly overcrowded, and when resources are available, we will send an overload bus to provide more capacity. RMWB Transit is in the process of implementing the recommendations in the Transit Master Plan, which includes optimizing high-demand routes to improve the Transit experience. |
Why do some bus routes stop at 7 p.m.? |
Ridership demand is the primary factor in determining where transit service is implemented, and the hours that services are offered. Routes with less ridership run less often. |
How does Transit make decisions about routes and services? |
Changes will be coming to RMWB Transit in alignment with the Transit Master Plan. The Transit Master Plan will guide changes and improvements to RMWB Transit to make better connections between and within Wood Buffalo communities, with fewer transfers and faster arrivals. For more information, please visit rmwb.ca/tmp |
Winter Operations
Snow is making it difficult to get to my stop/shelter. What can I do? |
If snow or ice is making it difficult for you to access your bus stop, please call Pulse. Following a snowfall, crews work to clear snow from bus stop boarding areas, prioritizing the busiest routes and stops. |
Why aren't all bus shelters heated? |
Transit Services provides ongoing repairs, cleaning and winter maintenance to all shelter assets within the urban service area of Fort McMurray. This includes more than 200 heated bus shelters. During the 2016 wildfire and 2020 flood, some bus shelters were damaged, resulting in the loss of power. On a yearly basis, Transit Services evaluates the list of unpowered shelters, with ridership usage and budgetary limits in mind, to prioritize repairs. Over the last two years, 18 shelters have been repaired. In 2024, we will continue to conduct assessments on the remaining unpowered shelters. Please note, unpowered shelters on inactive routes will not have power restored. |
Safety
What can I do if I or someone else doesn’t feel safe on the bus? |
