A fire significantly damaged a detached garage in Thickwood on March 16.

Select routes and schedules will be adjusted to expand service and better meet the needs of riders. The changes will take effect on March 20. 

Subzones 3 and 4 are active from March 16 to March 20 as the snow removal operation continues, with on-street parking restrictions in effect.  

Council approved five additional local non-profits to receive funding through the Community Investment Program (CIP).

The Community Investment Program Review Panel reviewed 43 applications that were previously denied or ineligible, and agreed with the majority of the decisions.

Mayor Sandy Bowman delivered the 2026 State of the Union Address at the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce Luncheon on March 4.

Subzones 3 and 4 are active for snow removal from March 2 to March 6, with winter maintenance returning to its regular schedule and on-street parking restrictions in effect.

Subzones 1 and 2 are expected to be active from March 9 to March 13.

Regional Emergency Services (RES) has achieved national accreditation for its ground ambulance service.

A third load of two modular homes is heading north on the Fort Chipewyan Winter Road on Friday morning, Feb. 27.

Southbound travel from Fort Chipewyan to Fort McMurray will be temporarily unavailable from 12:01 a.m. to 10 a.m. Northbound drivers should also expect delays during this time.
