Jubilee Gallery

Jubilee Gallery is a dedicated exhibition space situated on the main level of Jubilee Centre at 9099 Franklin Ave. This gallery offers a temporary space for artists and the community to produce meaningful curated experiences.

This gallery is aligned with the 2021-2030 Public Art Plan mandate: to showcase quality works of art that strengthen community identity and sense of place. It also offers a commission free career-launching opportunity for artists and curators to increase their expertise.

Current Exhibit

Infinite Patterns: A Collective Exploration of Art & Nature

March 13 to June 30

Immerse yourself in the intricate, organic patterns of The Northern Crones’ artwork, where nature’s fractal beauty - from swirling ocean foam to delicate leaf veins - unfolds to soothe and captivate. Inspired by studies showing the calming effects of natural patterns, each piece invites a quiet pause, offering a moment of meditative peace amid life’s complexities.

Not sure where to start?

There are several steps involved with planning out a project beginning with a well-thought-out proposal, carefully selected artwork and exhibition schedule.

Consider this criteria for your proposal:

  • Does the curated project demonstrate artistic excellence in terms of creativity, skill and innovation?
  • Are the artworks engaging, impactful and aesthetically compelling?
Conceptual cohesion
  • Is there a clear and cohesive concept or theme underlying the curated project?
  • Do the artworks work together harmoniously to convey the intended message or narrative?
Relevance to Public Art Wood Buffalo’s mandate
  • Will the curated project showcase quality works of art and ideas that strengthen community identity and sense of place?
  • Does it contribute to the public art program goals of promoting diverse perspectives, supporting emerging artists or fostering community engagement?

Learn more about this mandate at rmwb.ca/PublicArtPlan.
Originality and uniqueness
  • Does the curated project offer a fresh or unique perspective that distinguishes it from other exhibitions?
  • Are the artists exploring new ideas, techniques or subject matter?
Artistic diversity and inclusivity
  • Does the curated project represent a diverse range of artistic voices, backgrounds and perspectives?
  • How does the curated project include materials that are accessible to the public with diverse needs and backgrounds?
  • Does the exhibit promote inclusivity and representation of underrepresented groups within the arts?
Audience engagement potential
  • As part of the programming, curators/artists are encouraged to host a tour and information session. The gallery coordinator will assist in programming this for you.
  • Will the curated project resonate with the gallery's audience and attract interest and engagement?
  • Does it offer opportunities for meaningful interaction, dialogue, or educational programming?
Marketing and artist management
  • Do you plan to circulate an artist call to gather a series of works?
  • How does marketing affect your desired project timing?

Note: Artists will be required to sign an Exhibition Agreement. Please contact the public.art@rmwb.ca to receive a copy for review.
Technical execution
  • Are the artworks technically proficient in terms of craftsmanship, materials and presentation?
  • Are there any special technical requirements or considerations for displaying the artwork?
  • Will the selected works fit in the designated area?
  • What additional platforms, plinths or anchors will be needed to display the works?
  • What other technical or digital needs are required?
Feasibility and logistics
  • Are there any logistical considerations or constraints that need to be addressed for the successful implementation of the curated project?
  • Is the proposed exhibition feasible within the gallery's space, resources and timeline?
