(Red Deer, Alberta) – January 19 marked two years since the transition of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) dispatch from the municipalities of Calgary, Lethbridge, Red Deer, and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. For the health and safety of all Albertans, the Mayors of these four regions continue to advocate to the Provincial Government and Alberta Health Services to return local dispatch for a stable and integrated service.
(Fort McMurray, AB – April 24, 2023) – Regional Emergency Services (RES) will begin controlled burns this week as part of the Municipality’s wildfire mitigation strategy. When this happens, smoke and controlled fire may be visible, which is normal, and not a cause for concern.
The Downtown Community Cleanup event at Kiyām Park has been postponed to Friday, April 21 from 12 – 2 p. m. , due to the current weather conditions. The event was originally scheduled for today.
Watch-out for temporary no parking signs on affected streets. With the snow and ice melting away, crews are getting a head start cleaning and sweeping streets.
Say goodbye to trash and debris from the winter, and hello to a cleaner, greener neighbourhood by volunteering for the Community Cleanup and Adopt-a-Trail programs. Volunteer registration is open, and you can sign up as an individual or a group to lead Community Cleanup events or Adopt-A-Trail / Roadway.
