The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo invites community members to attend the Swearing-in Ceremony and Organizational Meeting of the 2025-2029 Council elect on Wednesday, October 29 starting at 6 p.m.

The unofficial results from the 2025 Municipal Election are in, including school board trustees.
A total of 10,506 voters participated in this year’s election, which is approximately 25.3 per cent of an estimated 41,494 eligible voters.
The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo sincerely appreciates all residents who exercised their right to vote, as well their patience during a longer-than-usual wait for election results.

Polls are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Ride for free on RMWB Transit routes to help you get there and cast your ballot.

The Municipality does not expect results to be available on election night. Ongoing vote tallies will also not be available. The unofficial election results are anticipated to be released on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The Winter Maintenance Zone (WMZ) program officially begins today with all winter maintenance subzones relaxed until further notice. When subzones are relaxed, on-street parking restrictions are not in effect. Residents are encouraged to sign up for WMZ alerts delivered straight to their inbox.
