A Public Hearing is scheduled for April 28, 2026, regarding a site-specific Land Use Amendment that proposes to add “Resort Facility” and “Retail, General” as Discretionary Uses to the UE – Urban Expansion District.
Cold weather and a late spring means the Fort Chipewyan Winter Road remains open at its maximum weight limit of 45,000 kg.
All weight limit reductions will be declared in advance as spring approaches and temperatures rise. As in past years, daytime load limits will be announced as the weather warms.
Phase 3 of the Downtown Revitalization Incentives Program (DRIP) has been extended until funds are spent. Council approved the extension and minor updates to the program policy at the March 24 Council meeting.

Subzones 1 and 2 are active from March 23 to March 27 for snow removal with on-street parking restrictions in effect. When your subzone is active, move vehicles off the street on your designated maintenance day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
