River breakup is in progress. An Evacuation Alert has been issued for Draper due to the potential of an ice jam flooding event along the Clearwater River. Water levels could impact egress and access on Garden Lane and River Bend Close. Residents in the alert area do not have to leave but should be ready to evacuate on short notice. After two years of construction, the Fort McKay Community Centre was unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration earlier today.
Fort McMurray firefighters were dispatched to Cree Road shortly before midnight, May 27 after a 911 caller reported the back side of a mobile home on fire.
The FireSmart Home Rebate Program provides grants to eligible homeowners who have received a FireSmart home assessment and have completed the recommended work. Supported by the Municipality and the Canadian Red Cross, the program is available for all communities in the region.
