Are you a paramedic ready for your next big challenge? The Fort McMurray Fire Department (FMFD) is looking for highly skilled Primary or Advanced Care Paramedics who want to take their careers to the next level – by becoming certified firefighters.
If you live on one of the selected streets in Fort McMurray, you’ll be getting a bear-resistant bin delivered to your home this summer. Streets with the highest level of bear activity were selected, based on data from Alberta Fish and Wildlife.
Ward 1 Councillor Ken Ball has formally submitted written notice of his resignation to Mayor Sandy Bowman and Interim Chief Administrative Officer Jody Butz, signaling his intention to resign from his position on Municipal Council effective immediately.
Council approved a new Roads and Transportation Bylaw (No. 25/020) at last night’s meeting. The new bylaw is aligned with Provincial legislation and will enhance community safety by providing clarity on traffic laws, and improving compliance, education, and enforcement tools.
Bylaw Services are now using drones to help enforce off-highway vehicle (OHV) laws. This has improved their ability to safely pursue riders illegally operating an OHV within Fort McMurray and lay charges. OHV laws are in place for the safety of everyone and the use of drones will help improve compliance with laws and enhance community safety.
